The catamarans, specially designed for the events leading up to the 2013 America's Cup campaign, arrived by cargo ship and were hoisted into the water from San Francisco's Pier 80 on Thursday.
"They played in unison for a bit, racing all the way down to Crowne Beach in Alameda in about 5 minutes then back across the bay to Hunters Point in about 8," the editors of the Pressure-drop site wrote.
The two boats are in town for the rest of the month for testing by America's Cup holder Oracle Racing.
They will be on full view off the northern end of San Francisco for the media and the public on Monday.
